UNIQLO Releases Second Demon Slayer UT Collection

Saturday, October 03, 2020

I have finished watching the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series on YouTube a couple months ago. It was part of my huge quarantine library, and I enjoyed it a lot.

If you're not a fan of it yet, you should check it out. I thought it was going to be a run of the mill anime series but no, they draw pretty good and they storyline combine skill, magic, monsters and several slayers. It also talks about family and how one good man wanted the best for his little sister who turned into a demon after getting his family attacked and slain. Take it with a grain of salt as this story may be just better for teens, adults too.

If you love the series, the iconic characters are personified in UT Shirts. This is the second of two installments they did for the series and I love the three nice looking shirts with the huge prints. If you are more of a minimalist, get the other three that looks very Japanice.

This would be so good for the new Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Train, which will be released in Japan come October 16. You will love the one with Tanjiro Kamada, his traveling companion Zenitsu Agatsuma and Giyu Tomioka, a prominent Hashira. It also costs Php590 each and is available on all Uniqlo branches and the Uniqlo app.

Go check them out now!

Beko Gives Tribute To Modern Day Heroes

The pandemic has displaced so many people, brought upon hunger, sickness to a lot of Filipinos. We've heard of good stories sometimes that we couldn't believe... even at a time when people are suffering, there are a few superheroes that come up and help others... proving that yes, not all heroes wear capes. Heroes do live among us.

Europe's number one appliance maker Beko was supposed to stage a grand launch this year. Instead, they got Beko Pilipinas Corporation to get their products like refrigerators, washing machines and free standing cookers donated to cities across the country and hospitals. From Pasig, to San Juan, Manila, the Philippine General Hospital, San Juan De Dios Medical Center, the Quirino Memorial Medical Center and Delos Santos Medical Center, they all benefited from this together with the #UniTentWeStand campaign of real life Darna, Ms. Angel Locsin. This provided emergency mega quarantine facilities for San Lazaro Hospital, the PICC, Rizal Memorial and the Philippine Arena.

BPC General Manager Gurhan Final says "These frontliners are our heroes. They deserve the all the convenience as they work with other heroes in the country battling it out with the COVID-19 virus. This is in our core values to encourage everyone to live healthier lives."

Recently, they also launched a #BekoPH Nominate A Hero campaign to seek and recognize these unsung heroes. These are individuals who made, still are, making a difference in the lives of others. #BekoPH teamed up with several popular Facebook groups such as Let's Cook Pare, Pinoy Midnight Snackers and Filipina Homebased Moms. The three communities chose a hero among hundreds who have been nominated.

In the end, they chose James Velasco of AccessiWheels who volunteers for PWD charities and foundations despite of being a PWD himself, Maria Isabel Gutierrez who's suffering from an auto immune disease but prepares awesome meals for her Barangay folk and medical frontliners, and Juliet Escala who preps food frontliners and donates medical supplies for those who need it. They've proven heroes stand among us and Beko recognizes their efforts, they received prizes from Beko Pilipinas Corporation, rightfully so.

I hope this inspires more people to do good deeds despite the pandemic.

What Happens in National Taco Day? TACO BELL Answers!

Thursday, October 01, 2020

Taco Bell has been my comfort food haven and even though I abhore eating alone, I do it in their store in Gateway Mall in Quezon City. I just couldn't resist the Crunchy Taco, the Half Pound Burrito and Quesadilla which I love from their menu. I take a bunk chair and enjoy them, I order more if I have family and friends over.

I love Taco Bell ever since they got here in the Philippines, I also saw them in Jeffree Star videos who I'm subscribed to on YouTube. In fact, I can tell I'm secretly obsessed with it. I get when I can, and darn love every bite I take, even the chips count. Now enough about me, I've got really good news for you.

This weekend (specifically October 4th) is declared the National Taco Day. This means, our love Taco Bell is going to dish out new offerings just for you (and me hey!). To enjoy our favorite tacos at home, they are launching the new DIY TACO KIT so we can make our very own tacos, the way we want it, right at the comforts of our home. You can order it via GrabFood, FoodPanda or their hotline 8911-1111 in selected areas. They are also keen on making your order experience really special as they take your SHELL-ebration to the next level by taking out Php59 off delivery fees from October 1st to the 7th, for a minimum purchase of only Php599. That's only the tip of the iceberg lettuce, because it's National Taco Day on the 4th, loyal fans who use the National Taco Day frame on their profile pictures can get FREE TACO on any of their branches for a minimum purchase of Php300. That's a good deal right there.

Here's how I made my Tacos 🐮♥️

It came with instructions! :)

They prepared all the ingredients, all cooked, freshly chopped, the sauces too.

Took a short minute to heat this in the pan

Then got the ground beef in the base

Put in a dollop of sour cream in the center

Then a mound of chopped iceberg lettuce

Topped it off with Tomatoes and Cheese just for kicks. It was darn tasty!

Then of course there's a crunchy version!

Heat them up a minute in the toaster

Do the same toppings, even more Beef in my taco

Oh don't forget to spice it up with THE hot sauce

It just makes everything better 😊

Taco Bell Marketing Manager Ms. Angela Cruz says "The National Taco Day is the most precious holiday for us at Taco Bell and we want to share this fun event with our most loyal customers. We hope to see our taco lovers out there safe in our stores or right at the comforts of their home, to be reminded how FantasTACO their favorite food is."

You can check out the Taco Bell Facebook page and their other social media channels about this offer. You want comfort food at these times, and they know it. I made mine just the way I want it, you can do the same too! :)

New TV5 News Program Frontline Pilipinas Starts October 5th

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Luchi Cruz Valdez, Raffy Tulfo and Cheryl Cosim will be on the frontlines of news on TV5. They are starting a new show named Frontline Pilipinas which is pretty much going to be their primetime news show starting on October 5th.

Got the chance to talk to them this afternoon and I picked up a few things on how they want to deliver news. Ms Cheryl Cosym, Raffy Tulfo and their head honcho Luchi Cruz Valdez shared how this will all happen on the show.

Raffy Tulfo says “You have to make sure those listening to you are understanding news, not just read off the prompter. It’s what we will bring to the table on Frontline Pilipinas. Our 20 years plus experience makes us confident, we have confidence because we have credibility. I get involved with my brothers problems sometimes so I just keep quiet, my credibility has not been tarnished, we are different people and the public sees that in the past. It’s why we have millions of subscribers on YouTube. Maybe the fact that we are in different channels also helped. The money that we earn on YouTube, well a big chunk of it goes to the public service. I have some to myself but most of it goes to them and my team. Credibility is important and viewers and complainants know that. I do legit help so we have tons of people go to our action center. Since the start of the pandemic, I see the problems especially with the poor. We look at what our news impact their lives, that experience with them should also be a part of the news we deliver. We have experience and knowledge, we have an idea what to use to present news to the taste of our viewers. I will make sure the 15 million subscribers that I have will also be watching Frontline Pilipinas.”

Luchi adds “Times are changing. Since the beginning we understand what we need to bring in the news has already been picked, verified, before bringing it to the people. We know essential information does not have to be negative, but important. We have so many questions, answering them is another when bringing in news. Raffy and Cheryl has done so much in the industry, we are frontliners and we will be your Kasangga, together with Ed Lingao, Lourd De Veyra, and our team. We don’t censor news, we pick what is important for the greater public. Rumors or political fervor is not a priority. We talk about it, we follow stories, take out hearsay and not put in those which have no soundbites. We won’t sensationalize them. Hopefully airing errors would not happen at all, but we don’t hesitate to apologize and do corrections if needed. There are a lot of fake news around, we would rather be late and true than just picking up a scoop. In the news industry, you can only have small creative space, we can’t make it flowery, if it is boring, we present it as is. The difference is how we put it together in our organization. That’s how we are different, shorter because we deliver what you need to know. We are riding on the wave of Raffy’s popularity online and Cheryl in doing Alagang Kapatid. We have a lot of news we need to cover even if we don’t want it, that’s our job, if we has a choice we wouldn’t go to hospitals but this is what we do, this is our vocation and commitment.”

Ms. Cheryl adds “We have public service in our heart, Raffy and I are very much involved with that. We won’t have any “sapawan” and I have been in the station for 10 years, but not to the point of calling out, we have a very calm news room here on TV5. We were not restricted to go out to deliver news, we see it on the streets, the news, online, every detail of it is intense and more important to make sense of the moment. We are here to make them understand the content we present on the frontline. We are not just news readers, they feed us what happens during the day and ask updates, ask how we can help and build relationships with resources. They respect our involvement because it is our faces in the news anyway."

On October 5, TV5 and OnePH will be telling you stories from Studios and where it happens on the frontline. They will of course observe proper health decorum, so they can still give you fresh news.

Congratulations!
