You can join jumpstart the economy and it starts with this mega campaign by both public and private sector, they call this INGAT ANGAT. Honestly, I can't get over seeing different competing brands in one campaign and how they set aside pride and business to help the Philippines back on its feet.

This is a critical time for the government and private companies to get together amidst the pandemic. This is their initiative. Business has been greatly impacted, people are slowly opening up again, Filipinos are resilient and hopefully business is slowly gonna go back to normal.

ACER Leads in PH






The title alone is a mouthful and yes, a market research firm just confirmed that ACER is the number 1 consumer and gaming laptop brand in the country. This still happened even if we are under GCQ and experiencing the pandemic.


Acer was able to hold the top spot as there was a huge demand for notebook laptops in the Philippine market. This happened as students and employees went into a digital shift this third quarter of 2020. Acer held a 32%-unit share brand performance in August alone and recorded the highest sales units in more than a year. Acer led value shares at 31% of the market and reached the highest brand value seen in a 13 month duration. This was based on the firms research. Acer officially holds the number 1 position in the notebook laptops market in 14 consecutive years.


Acer also strengthened its hold of the Gaming notebooks market. They got a whopping 42%-unit share in August. Predator Helios 300 holds the bestselling Gaming notebook for Acer.
Aside from that, Acer dominated the Education market by introducing the Acer Academy program designed to provide an educational environment promoting interaction. It has a dedicated team that works closely with schools and academic institutions to develop IT solutions which can accelerate the learning process and possibly set new educational standards. Sanofi Launches WeHealth Program

The country has been under GCQ for quite some time now. Under the pandemic, we all were met with a lot of stress, uncertainty, even fear. At home, we confined ourselves just like the rest of you guys so as not to endanger ourselves, or any member of our family. We scour to find work, to earn a living at a time where businesses suffer because they are either forcibly closed, or just didn’t survive economic struggles. Add to that, our own struggles to contain our seniors at home and our own health conditions. 


I was born to a family with a lineage known to have diabetes and hypertension. Mom started chewing on sugar cane when she was 5 in the fields that spread across towns and cities in Negros. Dad on the other hand was always the hot headed one, flares up like clockwork. To think that I wouldn’t have these same traits, might be a little too slim or close to none. Yes, I am a diabetic, so is my Mom and siblings. My Dad went ahead for the same reason a little over two years ago. Lifestyle change? Oh we try. Tried it for years in fact, but of course our bodies are different, metabolism too. We all are fine, but like normal people, we worry. 





This pandemic has actually brought upon complications in our usual visits to the doctor. For people who have diabetes and hypertension, regular checkups are a must because laboratory procedures should be done to check signs of recovery or worsening of it. Honestly, I fear going to the hospitals as they’re probably full of COVID-19 patients who need urgent care. Nobody also wants to get sick of course, so that actually worries me a lot because of the fact that we can’t seek consultations and physically be there in the clinics. That includes every member of my family, some seniors too in the mix. So doing that is just, not an option. We cannot neglect our blood sugar levels or pressure and adhere to doctors specified treatment. Online perhaps? That sounds good.

Spiral Re-Opens Doors this October

The pandemic has brought upon tremendous pressure in establishments especially the hospitality industry in Manila. Tourists have stopped coming in because of health restrictions which is understandable. At this time, even at limited capacity, all health protocols should be in place and I'm glad to hear Sofitel is opening the iconic Spiral again. 






Accor, the world leading hotel group which Sofital Manila belongs to has launched the ALLSAFE Cleanliness and Prevention Label. It is a signature set of global cleanliness and prevention criteria developed with and vetted by Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspections, and certification. This has also been integrated with national and local government guidelines, all in all to make you safe. 




Dining in on Spiral will be a little different. Seating capacity is currently limited and there will be one-meter spacing between guests. Transparent dividers are installed in reception desks and culinary ateliers. The private dining rooms are available for more exclusivity. Staff, chefs and  reception are equipped with safety gears, face shields and masks. Floors have signs for demarcation and a one way route. Each single plate will be served by the chefs from their respective ateliers putting in a one-dish-per-plate policy to prevent cross-contamination. 


For those with special orders or arrangements,  order numbers will be provided for guests to claim later on.  Beverage orders will be done via QR code on each table too. They currently have contactless payment in place including GCash, Alipay, WeChat Pay, and GrabPay too. This is in accordance with government protocols. Guests below the age of 21 years old and above 60 years old though are not permitted to dine in on any restaurant during General Community Quarantine (GCQ) which is still in place in Metro Manila. 

Spiral is starting this arrangement during the first three weekends of October. Please do reserve on Thursday dinner, Friday lunch and dinner, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday brunch.
