Healthier Holidays for my Family

 

Hypertension runs in the family and so does the greater population in the country. Thing is, you can actually have this condition for years and never even feel it - which makes it quite dangerous as it could cause more health problems including heart disease. Pumping blood into your system is a normal thing, but once those veins, arteries become narrow because of things you eat (hello cholesterol), you would have high blood pressure which won’t be good for your body. This is one of the reasons people experience severe headaches, nose bleeds. fatigue, vision issues, difficulty breathing, chest pain or irregular heartbeat or stroke. I’ve seen some of my relatives suffer the same fate, and as they say, it takes a village to actually get rid of it. People could suffer a heart attack, aneurysm, heart failure, kidney failure, vision loss, so it is so important to always seek the help of a medical professional. Doctors are the only ones who can diagnose and recommend steps on how you can battle this disease and early detection does really count. Now, my whole family tries to keep our diet in check. Albeit all of us are obese, we try to include vegetables in our plates, less fat, less salt. With it, you can get medical consultations anytime of the day (or as scheduled) or have your medicines delivered straight to your home. This is very convenient especially for those who wouldn't want to go to hospitals or outside as the threat of COVID- 19 still exists. 

They have connected with providers like SeriousMD, AIDE, KonsultaMD and Medifi as their tele-health providers so you can still ask doctors for medical advice and get their medicine from pharmaceutical partners like Watson’s and SouthStar Drug if they need prescription or over the counter medicine delivered to their own homes. This is perfect for those with diabetes, hypertension and other chronic diseases because they got to take care of themselves every day. Then recently, they have developed the Empower Patient Support Program which gives continuous care and medical education for Diabetes patients. It has one year of coverage. They also have paperless online enrollment for those who have Type 2 Diabetes (upon recommendation of a doctor) wherein they get a diabetes kit upon enrollment. Now, there’s no more excuse for Filipinos who don’t want to visit their doctors. The Launch of CAL the Brand

Stepping out of the shadows of proud mom Dimples Romana and dad Boyet Ahmee is daughter Callie as she now embarks on launching a new business venture called CAL THE BRAND.

She's only 17, and yes, she initially had challenges taking this idea off since she had to source materials for it. She built, learned the ropes and did this from the ground up. She burned the midnight oil learning about the business and started quite early with her fascination of Rattan bags. She ultimately wanted to support local artisans who mostly made these pieces by hand. She now wants these to reach a younger audience, who like her, would have love for aesthetic that is same as hers, which is all locally made and sourced.

As a person who has been working in fashion shows, photography stints who has probably seen lots of these, I could say what she's getting out in the market is SUPER nice. Sans her age, maturity, she sees things quite clearly curating each piece from local artisans. I am very impressed about how she was able to put this up in such a short time too.

Callie says "A few years from now, I hope to see more people with products from Cal. I want to see them wearing and using them proudly because they know how good it is, and how it is made proudly local. I hope Cal would make more individuals be inclined to support local artisans and promote them more here and abroad!"

REALME Tops Philippine Sales Q3 of 2020

REALME has been launched only two years ago and in just a short time, they've been doing pretty good. As announced recently, realme Philippines just copped number 1 spot in the Philippines. This stemmed from triple-digit growth during the third quarter of 2020. This was confirmed by global market intelligence firm IDC and this has been really a BIG feat. This third quarter was monumental as they scored 962.5 percent growth as they took 25.4 percent in local market scales, a phenomenal task done by a very huge expansion game of 465 kiosks, 119 concept stores and them partnering with over 5200+ partner stores. This was done across the country so there's really nothing unusual with the numbers.

Aside from that, they took a really good look at their brand and got one of Pixar's greatest animators to come up with their new character REALMEOW. I saw their video the other night and just said WOW. This guy is Independent, fearless, and dared to be just like RealMe. REALMEOW will be part of everything realme from hereon and some people say, he's actually immortal and only stays at 18 years old. Crazy, but if you saw the video he was in the other day, you're bound to fancy him. Wait, let me see if I can put it here.

Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata Said Their Vows on Princess "Daya" Reese Blogcon

It's a movie to start off Star Cinema's year of still creating worthwhile projects and definitely, they've got a hit up their sleeves as the stars of this film called  Princess Daya Reese starring Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata. It's been a while since they've gone and make one, so when I heard they were doing a blogcon this evening, I hurried onto zoom and panicked just like the rest of the media peeps who were there.

Just like you, we miss them. It was obvious with the line of questions being thrown at them earlier that seeing MayWard together meant a lot of things, people miss seeing them together.

Director Barry Gonzales says "In these times, we need to forget the problems, forget covid. These people have dedicated their time making a really good film, it will come out on New Year's day, 2021."

During the blogcon, one of the questions asked was about a vow of friendship and they had to tell us what they could promise each other. Maymay was quick to answer "Whatever you may go through, I am your prayer warrior. I hope you and your family stay healthy, and really happy. I support you, I will always be here as your close friend."

Edward on the other hand sad "Until the very end, I will do my best in protecting you, I will always be there to protect your person, I know your heart, I know when people see a shining star, I will be there to try and protect you, even though you may not need it. To pray for you, to discuss it, wherever you may fly, I will always have your back."

The movie is about a princess which had to switch places with a swindler, Maymay plays both characters so this is a very tough role for her. Anyway, Edward's character will soon find out what she's up to, and I'm sure it wouldn't be good if they started this with lies. This would be fun though because this is still a comedy situation-er and of course, since it's been a while since they've worked together, I asked them directly about what they missed with each other.Aside from that, I also asked them about what they were thankful for. I'm quite pleased how they answered these questions.

Now I hope you're as excited as me, we have to wait a few days though since this is going to be shown on January 1, 2021. It'll take a while but as Edward and Maymay said, it'll be worth the wait.
