Romantic Flick "Dito at Doon" Deserves a Part 2

Saturday, April 03, 2021

Arlene Esguerra and Carlo Cabahug truly didn't start in the wrong foot. The pandemic put them both in a predicament that they didn't want to endure, much like us today who's been in our homes for a year or more already.

Love at this time? Maybe, but these consequences of their interaction on social media would say otherwise. Actually, an impossibility. During this time, Len got what she deserved, which is real talk from her friends. She spent most of the time talking to plants and making viral dalgona coffee, things we did during the start of the pandemic. Direk JP Habac framed this quite nicely, really close to reality. Len's Mom, her friends were essential to the story. They confirm things, they put things she does into perspective and get her grounded. Cab on the other hand was the typical Filipino OFW story, well almost. You'll see his story unfold during small talks with Len as they discover each other. They might need to drink every once in a while to release inhibitions, and that's kinda fun if you think about it.

I like the romantic angles, on how their once impossible relationship might become something. In an eve where people are supposed to be apart, here they are making landi and its a good thing. It felt good for the soul, but without titles, will that affect them?

This film touches on so many realities. It talks about our dreams, our loved ones, a little hope, some drama, home sickness, our self worth, anger and frustrations. What is there for us when all is in shambles?  Janine Gutierrez and JC Santos did good in this film, I hope they do a part 2 because honestly, the thing deserves one. This is under TBA Studios and WASD Films. You can watch it via KTX.PH, Cinema76@Home, iWantTFC, Upstream or Ticket2Me.

Vivo Gets Red Dot Win for iQOO 7 Design

Thursday, April 01, 2021

Another day, another feather to the hat of vivo as they just copped the 2021 Red Dot Award for their new iQOO 7 smartphone. Their inspiration is speed and this sub brand of vivo made it all come true. iQOO 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and 5G which are mostly advanced technologies put into one handset and it's got flash charge + its own liquid cooling system which makes it stay in proper temperature.

It also has a 120Hz screen that's got a 1000Hz response and 300Hz report rate. It als carries dual speakers which makes the gaming experience more immersive for those who want to take mobile gaming seriously. The team behind the design concentrated on what users need and they even put into consideration phone safety when it gets dropped. The phone has corrosion-resistant marine aluminum in the middle making the built of it tougher in the rear and its screen. They also have made it shaped quite well, so it can be comfortably gripped when carrying it around.

The iQOO 7 has got AG frosted glass on the back so you don't get those nasty fingerprints when handled and gives it that 3D effect which everyone loves. Currently, it's available in China and the plan is, to launch it soon in other parts of the world. The iQOO will be customer-centric and design will be based off of that in every region they plan to release this in.

Stay tuned!

Unboxing the new Vivo Y20s G

News of this particular model surfaced a few days ago, but hey, we've got first dibs on what is the new Vivo Y20s G, probably an entry to mid range level phone from vivo Philippines.

This is a review unit so we're going to find how it fares and its performance a couple days from now, but so far, aesthetic wise, this is actually a very remarkable one. The build is pretty sleek, you can feel how premium it is. They'll probably have this in different colors, but the Obsidian Black is super nice as it is shiny, and looks expensive.

This can carry a lot of games as its got a Mediatek Helio G80 chipset. This also has a 6GB + 128GB RAM and ROM which means it can do several jobs at a time and store tons of photos and videos in this thin phone. The main camera is at 13MP, with 2 2MP lenses for depth and and macro shots. The front cam is an 8MP teardrop design embedded on top. It's also dual sim, so you can fit two lines if you have different networks you need to be in whether data or calls. You can use this all day, even more as it carries a 5000mAh battery which means it can do hours and hours of games, calls, streams and entertainment.

I will be trying it out for a couple of days so stay tuned on how we check and fare its camera, how it churns out photos and also videos. If this proves to be affordable, this would be something Filipinos would love especially if you're on a budget.

Stay tuned!
