CIGNAL TV Honors Filipino Athletes in Stellar Olympic Campaign

Tuesday, August 17, 2021

The Filipino really did quite well during the Tokyo Olympic Games this 2020. We won the first Gold Medal and hauled two Silver medals and one bronze, making the country the top Southeast Asian country to get them even under the pandemic.

Cignal TV has been there all the way as it is the official Philippine partner for the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 and dubbed it as "We Are Stronger", a campaign that has showcased what we can do as we strive to be faster, higher and stronger. They're following it up with another campaign called "See Us Stronger" when they wrapped up coverages a couple weeks ago. Cignal TV also covered 2016 Rio Olympics and put it in Cignal TV, TV4 and OTT platforms through Smart and PLDT. Gretchen Ho and Paolo Del Rosario was also sent to Japan to cover them, while you remain glued to your screens.

Cignal TV, TV5 President and CEO Robert P. Galang says "It was a proud and defining experience for all of us, we are extremely honored to be part of it. We know a lot of Filipinos also downloaded the Cignal Play app for it and got united cheering for our athletes in their respective sports.  We remain commited to provide the best sports experience across the country, the best is yet to come!"

This is another feather to their hat, and undoubtedly a historic  event captured for our eyes, and for the Filipino viewers.

Netizens are wondering about how this plays with Manila Luzon's show Drag Den which has been announced several months ago but as they say, the Philippines has enough talented queens to fill the plate. Is the world ready for our own fierce queens? Just think of the snatch game and characters that pinoys would be doing here, and the bardagulan in both the workroom and Untucked! Plus reading is, fundamental!

You just haven't seen them yet!

It looks like ABS-CBN isn't losing touch as one of its hit shows called “Huwag Kang Mangamba” has been nominated at the ContentAsia Grants 2021. The show will be butting heads with 4 other propgrams for the Best Show Series/Telefilm made for a Single Asian Market. Winners will be announced on the 27th via a virtual ceremony and will be judged according to relevance and appropriateness as accorded in the ContentAsia Awards’ official site.

For those who don't know, ContentAsia Awards was put up by ContentAsia which covers entertainment media in the Asia-Pacific region. Huwang Kang Mangamba was launched in March 2021 and is about a tale of two sisters, Mira (Andrea Brillantes) and Joy (Francine Diaz) who did their absolute best to fulfill their promise to Bro (Jesus) when he appeared in order to put up a church in their community. MAVY and CASSY LEGASPI Talks About Education and their Careers in GMA

Something tells me that these guys are going places. Well, we've got the good looking Maverick and Cassandra Legaspi aka Mavy and Cassy in a blogcon this afternoon to touch base with the Kapuso stars about what they plan to do now that they have renewed their contract with GMA Artist Center. It was held in simple ceremonies online and from what I've seen in their eyes, they were extremely happy to do this for their respective careers and for themselves. Cassy recently appeared in First Yaya which was a hit show in primetime while Maverick will be part of upcoming show "I Left My Heart in Sorsogon" which will be aired soon.

Cassy says "Honestly when I did my first project, I was so nervous, but I trust them. Now I don't feel tired as much.. I'm sure this is going to be a memorable show for me, it's an honor to be trusted with the character. I learned independence and discipline from this. It's a locked in taping so I had to fend for myself, I learned to be a good co actor, how to help others too. Being a Kapuso gave me opportunities to share my talent, be a better person, treat everyone equally."

Mavy adds "When I learned that I will join I left my Heart in Sorsogon, I met the cast and was super grateful to have been able to do it, bond with a new family. I'm happy and grateful. I had to be independent, learn more from my craft, when you're in front of the camera, it's you, you have to make sure you're equipped and do your best each time. Ever since we were kids they all welcomed us, we can't thank them enough because now we learned singing, dancing, hosting, and now acting. It's the perfect series for us, thank you for the trust and 3 years of being a Kapuso. I'm in a healthy environment and we grew up here. I am proud to be Kapuso!"

Here's the rest of the blogcon on video which we recorded a few minutes ago, yes we had to bring it FRESH!

Congratulations Mavy and Cassy! It was really fun talking to you guys!
