New BEEF CARNITAS Offers at TACO BELL Philippines

Friday, September 03, 2021

I've always loved my weekly Burrito fix at TACO BELL in Gateway Mall Araneta City. I don't usually eat alone, but when I do, I make sure it's going to be with real comfort food. But of course, the pandemic happened. I am so thankful that they remained in operation and deliver well loved Taco Bell items to my own home via their 8911-11-11 and delivery apps where available. Now I've been a beef lover all my life, and as a treat for people like me, Taco Bell is now putting Beef Carnitas in Burritos and Quesadillas on a limited time til October 18, 2021.

Imagine Beef that's slow cooked, mixed in with spices, garlic sauce and a hint of sweetness. They got that all wrapped up with your rice, veggies and made Taco Bell Beef Carnitas Burrito. If you prefer something that's enveloped in melted cheese and flour tortilla, go for the Taco Bell Beef Carnitas Quesadilla. It's available in meals, add Php 70 for Nacho Sprinkles and 16oz soda too. If you want the Beef Carnitas Burrito Big Bell Box that only costs Php 299, it's got a Beef Carnitas Burrito,  Crunchy Taco, Nacho Sprinkles, Cinnamon Twists and 16-oz soda. If you prefer an even bigger meal, go for the Php 369 Beef Carnitas Quesadilla Big Bell Box that comes with a Beef Carnitas Quesadilla, a serving each of Fiesta Potatoes, Nacho Sprinkles, Cinnamon Twists and 16-oz soda.

If you're a fan of intense beef flavor, this definitely hits the spot. The sides you see have always been a staple in Taco Bell meals so that's a given. You'll save a lot when you get them on these Big Bell packages so might as well order them like that. Take a bite of it today and say Live Mas!

Insurance Crisis in the Philippines Addressed on 11th Unionbank E-TalkTales

Woke up super early for this but had my cup of coffee and forgot to login promptly for the 11th edition of the E-Talk Tales hosted by Unionbank. Guest speakers were UBX President and CEO John Januszczak, Coherent CEO John Brisco and Chubb Deputy Regional President for Asia Pacific Glen Browne.

They discussed the Philippines low insurance coverage and how much Filipinos have not seen the benefits of having one. John Januszczak says "It's not easy for most people to have a basic understanding of how it can be valuable for them. Providers should device a way to make it easier for them to discover it. You have to make them relate, have it personalized and not make it complicated. These days, some products are being shown the same way as it was 50 years ago. It should be easy to understand for customers, agents and advisors. Mobile has been a great enabler in the Philippines and we have to leverage that more so for internet connection, I believe there are creative ways to do it. We're bringing products to make the transaction faster, to make it easier for them to buy insurance. There is indeed a lot of upside in getting insurance."

John Brisco, CEO of Coherent says "What we do is make it easy for them to create products by providing data, help them interact wtih insurance and UBX without hitches, make it accessible for everyone. We want to help integrate them into the UBX ecosystem and act as the facilitator between them and UBX. We want it to be as seamless as possible."

Glen Brown adds "Insurance is seen as something extremely complicated, when we first partnered with UBX, what we could do here was different from other countries. We'd learned across Southeast Asia that we need to bring the best solutions to more that 50 Million signups in the region. There really has been a change in the last 2-3 years. Chubb continues to provide world-class products that fits in that experience and Coherent is bringing the technology that makes that happen. It's quite unique."

With the way things are, there are lots of room to grown in the insurance business in the country. You just have to have the right partner to make it work.

Vice Ganda's "adVICE of the Day" Stays Buzzworthy

Thursday, September 02, 2021

Last night's episode of "Everybody Sing!" had me thinking. The contestants were pretty much struggling to answer one particular song in the Jackpot round and have listened to it several times, and their time was running out. All the other songs were guessed correctly instead of one which is "POP Goes the Weasel" which is an old nursery rhyme/song published in London. Everybody at home knew it (thanks to my Dad who always played the old stuff!), and hearing the stories of the factory workers who lost their livelihood during the pandemic was heartbreaking, Vice Ganda must have felt what I felt, the urgency to help these people. During the last few seconds, Vice dropped a super obvious clue, and of course... they won the Jackpot prize!

This means 25 Factory Workers won a whopping Php 500,000. If you split that among them, they'll get 20,000 pesos each which in this day and age would help a lot especially those who lost their jobs. I heard some of them even struggle to put food on the table, this won't just give them relief, but give them a second shot at making a living. What Vice said after was actually even MORE moving. Here's the clip!

This moved me, the rest of the people watching the show. I saw a lot of the Factory Workers go off camera and ball, cried, let it all out because they knew how these all are going to be a huge blessing for them. Vice says "Of course nandiyan pa rin ang harutan at kulitan sa 'It's Showtime' at 'Everybody Sing' pero kailangan din natin magbigay ng inspirasyon at positive good vibes sa mga manonood. Madami ang nag-guide sa akin at nagbigay sa akin ng inspiration so I'm just paying it forward now that I have a platform to reach a lot of people."

Aside from that, his team came out with adVICE of the day. In the show, she also mentioned something about the upcoming 2022 elections which is very on point. It's been talked about and liked A LOT on social media.

The Unkabogable Vice Ganda by the way will continue her brand of entertainment in California USA. She's having a two night concert called VAX GANDA: A Dose of Laughter in Pechanga Resort C@sino on October 15 and 16. You can get information about it and tickets on Pechanga.com or StarmediaEntertainment.com. If you are in the US and in nearby states, take the trip and see her LIVE!

If you've been stressed at work, or stuck at home and can now follow health protocols to go to venues, might as well see why Vice continue to be loved by many.

Leanne and Naara for "Daybreak Live!"

COVID-19 restrictions have halted a lot of businesses including the entertainment sector. Live events, are a no go which means music lovers, artists, are going to be heavily affected. Thank the ones above for putting smart people in technology, we have new ways to connect digitally and still see each other virtually.

Indie pop duo Leanne and Naara are artists from Warner Music Philippines. As Naara puts it "I miss hearing people sing to our songs and how we got interact with them, wish we could go back performing live gigs." While Leanne quips "The pandemic had us do virtual gigs which was quite difficult for us. We were in different places and resorted to doing sets of our own in a single event. We've been doing this over a year now and slightly getting the hang of it. We also have pre recorded ones, which we can do in a single day."

Leanne and Naara did a concert in an actual concert hall. It's called Daybreak Live (their debut album was entitled Daybreak). It's full of their latest hit singles, they also have new arrangements and arguably their great vocals that have been always adored by their followers. They're doing this as a way to bring their Daybreak album even closer to their audiences since they haven't formally had a launch for it. They also know people miss live music and this is certainly good to quench the thirst for it. This concert has been a lifelong dream for them.

About the songs, Music Director and Producer Brian Lotho made sure each single will be heard differently. You'll feel they've amped up favorites like "Too Soon!" and "Till the Morning Comes". Concert Director par excellance Paolo Valenciano also is also making sure everything runs smoothly as he's done the biggest ones in the country. This was recorded in Maybank Theater, with protocols followed each step of the way. Leanne says "We are so excited to bring our brand of music and electrifying performances onstage and our Daybreak Live concert brought a different side of us, and we hope we'd be allow to perform once again when restrictions relax in the country!"

Now it would be good to take your love for Leanne and Naara's music further, both the Daydream album and the live concert (as recorded) is available on Spotify.
