Now dubbed as the Majestic Superstar, Ms. Maja Salvador has indeed earned this title. After years of successfully doing shows and several drama series, we got to see her in the flesh a couple days ago in TV5 studios/Launchpad in Mandaluyong City. This year has been a very fruitful year for her because apart from her highly successful show Niña Niño (who’s still raking in high ratings and awards), she was able to put up her talent management company who now is trusted by artists with the likes of John Lloyd Cruz, several singers, and even social media influencers. This time, Cignal and her management team are celebrating their renewal of ties as Maja will be continuing her projects with the network and signed it in simple ceremonies a few days ago.
As you know, her shows are doing well in TV5 and Cignal’s platforms, all of which has been trusted by producers, advertisers alike. Maja also recently won the Best Actress Award in a Drama at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (her second one) and production for another series and a sitcom will be done this year. During the press conference, they also told us that Niña Niño is now going to be shown in Netflix and hopefully have more of their programs in the platform soon. She’s extremely happy about how things seem to have fallen into place including a relationship that has had a second wind with hottie businessman and Crown Artist Management Chief Executive Officer Rambo Ortega who was also there to support her.
CIGNAL and TV5 head honcho Robert Galang also was excited about their plans as they have more in store for the public this 4th quarter and early next year. They were very careful not spoiling things because as they say, this is just the start of Maja’s projects in the network. Here’s our video coverage of the event a few days ago:
Here's how Maja manages her time
Here's Maja signing her renewal with TV5 and CIGNAL
Maja deserves the accolades, the success and the title of Majestic Superstar. Congratulations Maja! Here’s to more of these fruitful projects with Cignal and TV5!
Looks like the morning show time slot is going in for a big surprise as Cignal Entertainment and Red Crane Studios launch this one of a kind program called LAKWATSIKA. This is going to be hosted by funny comediennes and talented singers Ethel Booba and K Brosas.
Just hearing their names tell me this is going to be a heck of an adventure, and that's not just the premise of the show because unlike any other morning shows, this includes traveling, funny antics that happens without scripts and talking to people, just like you and me.
In their first episode, they have traveled to Cauayan in Masbate. With picturesque shorelines, flora and fauna, they found a new destination for local and international tourists... places that are seldom visited and are just waiting to be discovered (of which this is what they're planning to do in the next ones). This is the same reason why they partnered with the Department of Tourism so they can take you to see places, every small city, town, a roadside stop as they promise it will be a little unplanned in each episode.
Not only that, they'll be tasting the exotic and unique dishes... tell the story of the people they visit which is going to be very exciting to see on television. After a tiring talk and travel, they're also going to undergo several challenges in a day just to make sure they're on top of their toes, plus they'll be giving time to get to know townsfolk, which Ethel and K told us was so touching because they've never felt so welcome til they experienced it first hand in Masbate.
They also have digital hosts Queenay and Marimar Tua who will tell the stories for the digital audience because this will also be shown in TV5 and Cignal's platforms as well.
Here's our video coverage of the presscon, so please, enjoy!
I love how K Brosas commented about their friendship, she didn't sugarcoat anything and told us while they were not that close (while still friends), they're getting to know more about each other now especially because they bond over parenting (Ethel gave birth recently and they talk about kids now). If you're up to it, go watch the show on April 18 at 11am. This will be shown everyday so you've got lots of time to watch it. This will surely be fun!
Your fun and bubbly MNL48 just got us all so excited about their new single called "No Way Man" which was launched today April 6th, in simple ceremonies during our mediacon. Present were center girl Abby, Sheki, Jamie, Ruth, Ella, Jan, Andi, Jem, Yzabel, Princess, Lara, Coleen, Rianna, Lyza, Dana, and Dian who were all game to answer our toughest questions.
Their single is out now on digital streaming platforms like Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and wherever available outside the Philippines. MNL48 fans should be happy, they're very candid in this video... I kinda like their personality, it felt like we were just among young friends today. Congrats MNL48!
Still reaping milestones during a stressful year, Huawei has been able to get CNY 636.8 Billion profit in year 2021 and a huge CNY 113.7 Billion net profit for the same year which is over 75.9% increase year on year. A substantial 142.7 Billion though went to expenses which is a mere 22.4 percent of its total earnings, but is expected to invest further more in research and development in the coming years. They attribute this to steady growth in the enterprise and consumer business sector and the work they've put in on the development of their ecosystem.
Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou puts this as a win despite revenue decrease during this year and she says "This is due to how we are able to make a profit and increase cash flows. We certainly are able to deal with uncertainties in the market, we increased operations specifically the Huawei carrier business and how we got to deploy 5G networks in different countries. We have partnered with carriers hence signing around 3000 entities/contracts for more 5G applications. It's being used in districts that have manufacturing plants, mines, iron and steel plants, including ports and hospitals which are essential industries.
What's even better is their vision for growth is going to continue, investing in future technologies targeting transportation, energy production, finance and the manufacturing sector. A little more than 700 cities around the world benefited from their partnership with Huawei which includes Fortune 500 corps.
According to Simon Lin, Huawei's President for Asia Pacific "Our strategy this year includes increase in R&D investment, be in the middle of technologies concerning connectivity and computing. We will also get involved in digital power and cloud computing, so we'd have digital economy triggers in the Asia Pacific region."
Huawei continues to push for digitalization in various industries, to transform them while keeping the planet alive through low carbon emission efforts. That's a noble deed.
