Meet TOP CLASS Dance Mentor BRIAN PUSPOS

Looks like you're going to be treated to a dance off unlike no other as Catriona Gray hosts the search for the next P-POP Icon called TOP CLASS.

This afternoon, we got to talk to Brian Puspos, the dance mentor for the competition. He's a Houston based guy, part of SoReal Cru and Mos Wanted Crew who landed runner up and third in America's Best Dance Crew on its Second and Seventh season. He's a deadly choreographer and worked with the likes of Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and several K-POP acts (oh you know who they are) just to name a few.

Brian says "It means the world to me, being a Filipino American, we've been in the forefront of dance and this program will get Filipinos to reach their dreams. This is what it means for me. Having the discipline to work very very hard, it's what I'm looking for. Working with the KPOP stars, I've seen how hard they work, how much they put into their craft, but Filipinos have a knack to go beyond that. It's special because this is brand new, I'm excited. It's amazing I've seen very talented PPOP groups, I would love to work with my people and hopefully get to see them in the Philippines soon. I'm really grateful for this opportunity. It's given me confidence to work with Chris Brown who saw and reached out a couple times and it was really cool to be commended by megastars commending our work. BTS stood out because I also saw how hard they work, in everything they do, the work ethic is something that I really respect, which I hope to expect with the contestants of Top Class too. Filipinos are some of the best dancers in the world, I hope they continue to learn and grow. For me, I also have much more to learn and I look forward to do that in the dance community in the country. I'll be there in June, I always go there like once a year so I'm pretty familiar with the place. I think I've learned a lot in Texas, the time is now to take the leap and I'm pursuing this. Pour out your heart on stage, think of it as the last thing you'll do every time you do that. If you have insecurities, pick yourself up, get it out of your head, as dance will make you confident."

He adds "My parents were ballroom dancers who compete, I kinda absorbed that trait when I was a kid. I guess I was inspired by them. I've been preparing for this role my whole dance life, I fell that I am ready and credible to be mentoring Top Class, I'm ready to work. Any superstar or celebrity I worked with. Being in a couple reality shows, I've seen how mentors became really good behind the camera. I'm going to be an educator, to make everyone be better. That's what I'm here for."

By the way, today is the last day to submit your audition videos, if you haven't yet please do because this is a big opportunity especially for dance fanatics, if you are part of crews who have been in the Philippine contest scene for a long time.

Meet the Guys and Gals from SPARKLE: Your SPARKada

17 stars handpicked by star maker Mr. M aka Johnny Manahan, your Sparkle GMA Artist Center official Sparkada... dubbed as the next big stars in showbiz industry. They're from different backgrounds, and today is their official launch.

The launch was accompanied by official summer anthem for the Sparkada "Kung Ikaw ay Kasama" sung by Zephanie and executives of GMA were also present for the occasion. Meet Jeff Moses, Anjay Anson, Kim Perez, Raheel Young, Larkin Castor, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Vince Maristela, Dilek Montemayor, Cheska Fausto, Roxie Baeyens, Tanya Ramos, Vanessa Peña, Kirsten Gonzales, Caitlyn Stave, Lauren King and Saviour Ramos.

During the blogcon, they all felt excited, emotional and blessed for the opportunity to be part of this. Mr. M and the executives (through 3 auditions) choice were pretty varied and that would fill spots of a multitude of genre they plan to do on GMA programs and shows in the future. Saviour Ramos was not in the blog conference though because he's in a locked in taping for a show already, that's good news no?

SEAN DE GUZMAN Ready to Break Limits of Genre with FALL GUY

It was such a pleasure to see fresh faces for the upcoming Joel Lamangan masterpiece "Fall Guy" (this is still their working title). In a grand story conference this evening, producers Ms. Len Carillo of 3:16 Media Network and John Bryan Diamante of Mentorque Productions had us see a glimpse of this upcoming movie written for the screen by famed Troy Espiritu.

This stars the good looking Sean De Guzman who also starred in previous Joel Lamangan film "Anak ng Macho Dancer" (Son of the Macho Dancer) which was his launching film during the first quarter of last year. He also did Bekis on the Run (Gays on the Run), Huling Baklang Birhen sa Balat ng Lupa ("The Last Gay Virgin on the face of the Earth" which have yet to be shown on theaters) and Island of Desire on streaming platforms.

He says "Honestly, when I was informed that I was going to do FALL GUY, I was nervous, I had self doubt because the role was super heavy. I knew that I really have to work on how I portray the role as it is very different from the films that I've made in the past. It delves more into drama. You can say this is my attempt to crossover to a different genre. Not that I'm quitting making those kind of films, I just want to take on different roles and learn from them. I wouldn't want to put limitations,  Who knows, you might be seeing me in action films in the future."

Direk Joel says "I am the one who went with him on his journey as an actor. Why did I choose him? Because I saw potential as an actor, intrinsic traits of a good one. It can be developed into something big as a lead for a film. That's what I see in Sean. When the opportunity came for me to make a film for him, I didn't bat an eyelash. After working with him in previous projects, I can say he will deliver. I've seen his growth as an actor and this movie will surely showcase his versatility. I have never doubted that from day 1. This is a good story of a young man who didn't like where he came from, because they're poor, and this is what happens if they follow a life with lies. I know Sean can do something like this, and people can learn from it."

Aside from the films mentioned earlier, Sean has also been busy with other films and series under the Vivamax brand. He also made mention of how he's really eager to work with Cloe Baretto of whom we've interviewed a couple weeks ago. They've been friends for a while now and just joked around about who wanted who. Needless to say, they've been looking forward to do a project and this has just come in to fruition.

FALL GUY also stars Ms. Glydel Mercado, the legendary Shamaine Buencamino. Also in the cast are Vance Larena, talented actress/writer Quinn Carrillo, Marco Gomez, Karl Aquino, 80's icon Ms. Tina Paner, Jim Pebanco, Pancho Carrillo, Mark Cardona, Tiffany Grey, Azekah Alvarez, Nisa Ortiz, Hershie de Leon and Itan Rosales. As you can see, they're not shortchanging you in the acting department, you'll be seeing another Joel Lamangan film that's worth watching when they finish the shoot. ARJO ATAYDE Tops Survey in QC's 1st District

How can you not love Arjo?! :)

Not surprised that our man Arjo Atayde is doing good in District 1 Quezon City. See, our boy puts in the hard work, genuine eagerness to help and that’s exactly why he’s leading in the surveys. This is according to Istratehiya Inc. where it confirms 74.9% for the congressional hopeful after being asked of who would have the ability to help, capacity to understand the plight of the less fortunate, honesty, intelligence, being tough and the ability to help others whilst not being a traditional politician.

Arjo knows how hard his volunteers have dedicated their time and effort to inform constituents about what he plans for District 1, while not resorting to mudslinging on ground. While he knows there are existing black propaganda hurled against him, he’s very glad QC’s District 1 remains trusting of him. 

Arjo says “What District 1 in QC needs is help, none of those black propaganda or rumor mongering. If elected, I’d choose to work closely with government agencies to generate more jobs and livelihood. Also, I’d concentrate on improving transportation and health care, and address providing education for the unprivileged youth. We can’t be complacent just because we’re leading the surveys, we’ve got a lot to do aside from assuring we have clean and honest elections, let’s not allow them to steal our votes on May 9th.”

I’m glad our boy Arjo is also being supported by his whole family (Actress Ria Atayde, Best Actress Ms. Sylvia Sanchez and  Businessman Art Atayde), and our incumbent Mayor Joy Belmonte too. You guys in District 1 of QC are lucky, he’s a good man.
