TIKTALKS On Bigger, Bolder Second Season!

Looks like the guns are out and they're not going to be beating around the bush as TIKTALKS start their 2nd Season! Hosts Ms. Korina Sanchez Roxas, Alex Calleja, Ms. Pat-P Daza, G3 San Diego, Kakai Bautista promises an even more feisty discussion especially with those questions that everyone has on their mind - but didn't dare ask it.

They are after all from different walks of life, different backgrounds, a veteran broadcaster, a comedian, a radio personality, someone from production and writing, plus a spirited singer and comedienne, it's already a ruckus of a conversation just by knowing that.

Here's what happened during the media conference

This show is produced by Ms. Korina Sanchez-Roxas and her friend Jojie Dingcong of Media Kweens, Inc. Yes, in some way or form, this is like The View in the US, but very different because of it's Filipino flair. They're not even afraid to talk about things that may taboo in the Philippine context, they even opened up the possibilities of defending the not so popular of opinions, and it's totally okay. Previews of upcoming shows include their experiences with body odor and halitosis, so imagine the fun revelations of them talking about their friends and strangers they had to do white lies for.

This show allows you to learn more about what you could never talk about on a normal day. They make sure you'll have less inhibitions, have fun of situations, and perhaps learn something in the process. It's going to be light, none of those serious reportage you're used to see on television. It's something you can watch, be amused, have something to sit back and relax to after a long stressful day. Just to give you an idea, the press conference was very spontaneous that while we were being given answers, several conversations on the sidelines were also happening, and they say, that's exactly is what's happening while they are doing the show. They also promise a lot of interesting topics in the next few episodes, and a few select guests that would be interesting to also talk to. It's a surprise, so head on to TikTalks on TV5, on their subsidiary channel One PH, Radyo 5 on 92.3 News FM and their other partner channels (starts 9:30PM Sundays). This is exciting news, especially since Ms. Korina Sanchez Roxas recently signed a co production with ABSCBN for her hit show Rated Korina.

Drag Race Philippines (Season 2) Promises More LOOKS, LAUGHS and DRAMA

 

 

I waited for the moment when all the queens of Rupaul's Drag Race Philippines Season 2 were able to come out and do their entrance on the show (which was today). I think they got the hint from other franchises that people tend to have a hard time connecting with queens when they put them all out in one go. This was certainly a bit overwhelming for a viewer, but super exciting to see if drag queens from the Philippines would do well, but without question, since they already got their second season right?

 

 

 I had my favorites like veterans Captivating Kat Kat, Bernie and DeeDee Marie Holiday. I also enjoyed the gorgeous Miss Jade So who actually knows what she's doing, all the terms and outfits are just fit to a T.  The comedy of Arizona Brandy who went in with a bottle of brandy hooked to her was just bonkers. I also love the weird good aesthetics of OV Cxnt (those horns really remind me of my website kumagcow LOL). I have yet to see what Hana Beshie, Matilduh, Tiny Deluxe, Veruschka Levels actually have up their sleeve. Sad to see Astrid Mercury and Nicole Pardaux had to exit the show early since they got booted out in the first and second episodes.

We also got to cover the first 6 as they did their runway walk, they did bring their crazy outfits and certainly got us excited to see the first episode. Check out our video coverage of the event here!

Adding to the lovely evening, the appearance of the Season 1 Queens, plus first ever RPDR Philippines Queen of Queens, Precious Paula Nicole who also gave a speech to encourage the second season queens to give their best on the show. Host Mama Pao aka Paolo Ballesteros also asked the contestants to start their engines, everyone was giving that night!

Aside from Paolo, judges KaladKaren, Jiggly Caliente, Rajo Laurel, Photographer BJ Pascual, Jon Santos and a couple more celebrities will be there to decide who gets to pack up and leave, then choose the ultimate drag queen this season. There's still a lot of things happening in the show, so after the episode, stay tuned for the drama since RPDRPH Season 2 will also have their own Untucked! all shown on HBO GO and WOW PRESENTS PLUS (internationally)! Think of it being less abbraisive, but more care for the fabrics. It's like handwashing for those delicates, and being attentive when it needs more work.

A Few Reasons To Watch GARY VALENCIANO's "Gary V Back at the Museum"

Had a really fun time at the Music Museum attending the concert of Gary Valenciano called "Gary V: Back at the Museum". It was officially his 93rd time to perform there and the show was pretty much a huge time travel, of things he's done at the Music Museum and even have video synced in almost every number he did at that venue.

It was fun to see how several big stars of today were in the audience, and much of his fans in those years still attend the show. As Mr. Gary Valenciano puts it, he says "Music Museum is the most intimate venue, and this is why it's important for me because much of my songs and it's messages are meant to be done that way."

Sure enough, we got that treat. Music Museum has the audience placed very close to the stage and Gary could actually see much of our face unlike other venues which is why he prefers it. It's like he could talk to people, sing his songs while you are actually there. It felt very personal, but he's not even shortchanging anything even the dance moves.

Mind you, the Manouvers that are dancing with him are actually 4th generation (Manouvers Ignite). They all retired (I think) and he's still dancing? What?!

These are just a few of the reasons why you should watch the show. Gary Valenciano is also helping a few charities that cater to kids, those affected by health conditions (those with diabetes) and the poor. Even though I barely did catch what they did in the 80's and early 90's, his music transcends all these and have really good lyrics. It's like poems come alive, and I couldn't keep up with the crowd that evening even if I was extra energetic. If you're a Tita/Tito, Mom/Dad, Lola/Lolo, millennials or Gen XYZ, you'll enjoy his music and the memories that come with it. Btw, make sure to watch out for the "request" part of the show and get heard by Mr. Pure Energy himself and sing your favorite Gary V song. (It was my favorite part of the show!)
