Shop at Puregold and Help Raise Funds for Communities

Saturday, October 07, 2023

Your usual grocery shopping at Puregold has just got more meaning now as availing their new anniversary promos now help fund their community outreach programs. In September, they did Puregold Panalo Cup wherein shoppers got to purchase limited edition cups with endorsers TVJ on it. Proceeds went to Hospicio de San Jose which is a place for orphans, abandoned kids and for the elderly. They also put it to basic needs, educational supplies, making the contribution of Puregold customers a huge part of this.

Puregold Price Club Inc. President Vincent Co says "We have been able to do this for years and now we have our shoppers not only get good value for money products but share with those who need it most. We need positive changes and this collaboration with shoppers would be good for short and long term goals, and our efforts."

As part of Puregold's anniversary celebrations, they also got Visar Society to do custom tote bags for the benefit of La Mesa Watershed where SB19 Justin de Dios designed "People of Puregold", to signify the help that the Puregold community was able to bring. It was sold late September, but will be available again around October 16 to 26. It'll be good especially for fans of the group, and those who genuinely want to help (costs Php 125 if you get Php 1500 worth of groceries and Php 200 anniversary items). La Mesa Watershed Reservoir needs a lot of trees and its species.

There will also be a raffle draw happening on October 8 where Puregold will choose winners that will be sent to Hong Kong (10 winners), gadgets (20 winners), Hakot with the Stars/grocery run (20 winners), and Sari Sari Store showcase for 50 people. The second wave of winners will be announced on October 27 to November 5. You can get coupons every Php 2000 groceries you purchase (only 3 per transaction though!). Fine print will be in posters in Puregold so read em while you're there! Puregold's Sari saring Birthday Promos will be done on different dates til November 2023, so stay tuned for that as well!

Who's Making Trouble at GOOD WILL?

Good Will is currently on it's 3rd season on Net 25. It's a sitcom that tells the life of Lloyd Patawad played by David Chua that's in the crossroads to choose between his passion being a rock artist and managing a resort he inherited from his mother.

Other stars like Devon Seron, Kat Galang, Raymond Bagatsing, James Caraan, Ryan Rems, Smokey Manaloto and Ms. Marina Benipayo make each episode an interesting one as they talk about the different facets of life, the good and the bad, plus a whole lot of problems to solve right after the huge fire that broke at the Good Will resort.

Aside from that, his love life took a turn for the worse, as long distance relationships with Sarah starts and a new girl arrives. Will Tricia get to stir the pot?

Ownership of the resort on the other hand is super controversial, then food from the pantry goes missing, who is to blame? That's when they get a surprise when they discover the culprit! Is Mina a team player or is she a foe? This is just part of the things that viewers will find out in future episodes!

This show is produced by ALV Productions, Viktory 8 Media Inc., and Dark Carnival Productions. Show starts this coming October 8 at 4PM. Make sure you join the fun, the crazy rivalry and relationships right after Korina Interviews (another hit show on the channel).

Waiting for MMFF 2023 Nod: Maricel Soriano Starrer "In His Mother's Eyes"

Intense scenes from Roderick Paulate and Maricel Soriano won't be shortchanged.

The Metro Manila Film Festival is near and I'm sure there must have been tons of films submitted in hopes to become part of it. This is special especially these holidays because being part of it isn't just economically rewarding, but has that certain prestige to be chosen amongst some of the best in the industry.

There's a Maricel Soriano, Roderick Paulate and LA Santos project called "In His Mother's Eyes" that wasn't included in the first four films, but I'd reckon it could break expectations if it does become part of the list (eventually) especially with the caliber of acting involved in it. Seeing Maricel Soriano almost stripped down and dependent on her capability to deliver emotions like no other gave me goosebumps during a special screening (of short clips to get a gist of the film).

Family Love

Multi awarded actor Roderick Paulate takes on a challenging drama, gives funny when it is needed in the film.

LA Santos got hospitalized in one scene, it was that intense. Boy has acting chops people should see. And his Mom said, much of the story is what he experienced in real life.

The film also discusses a few social issues. To answer a few questions like how you would measure Motherhood, the sacrifices people have to endure as OFW's and how it ultimately affects the family. There's also the point of LGBTQIA+ and the challenges to raise a child with special needs. All these in one movie that will make you laugh (the scenes with Ruby Ruiz must be seen!), cry and change your outlook on people.

7K Production head honcho Ms. Flor Santos told us the story of how Ms. Maricel Soriano got the role and says "When they did Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, I was in China and they were locked in during the pandemic. He was a Mama's boy (LA Santos), he was crying and panicked a lot during different instances in the shoot, Maricel was there to calm him down. It was then agreed to continue this film, and just thinking about back then, I thought it was impossible. This is also the reunion of Roderick and Maricel, which is why we also had the best people at the back and front of the camera. To get this to foreign festivals, streaming platforms, I'd love that to happen. I know choosing Roderick Paulate had a lot of naysayers, but I wanted him to do this especially since I know he will do justice in the role. He exceeded expectations. I think it's God's way of telling us, we're good people, we are blessed."

I'd be disappointed if this doesn't get included in the MMFF 2023 lineup, as "In His Mother's Eyes" could very well cop acting awards based on what I've seen so far. The framing, photography, is also equally amazing. Here's hoping we don't have a let down.
