Manoeuvres, Streetboys, Universal Motion Dancers, Power People and Kidz@Work Headline "THE SIGN" 90's SUPERSHOW!

Thursday, April 11, 2024

If you're still in the mood to reminisce about the 90's, you're in for a treat! The biggest dance groups during that era is finally having a dance concert called "THE SIGN" 90's Supershow this coming April 19th at the ALIW Theater in Pasay City.

Tito's and Titas will love what the Manoeuvres, Streetboys, Universal Motion Dancers, Power people and Kidz@Work have prepared on this date. Expect them to perform their signature dance numbers and the iconic hit songs that spelled a generation we wouldn't forget. Other performers include fellow 90's groups like Team 90's, Wildcat Queens, BMAD, Dyna Turbo, Teensquad, BIGMEN, Katz22, Black&White, Abstract Dancers plus special guests Blain and Mastermind.

As stellar as that list may sound, this concert is being done for the benefit of several dance groups that they are supporting. After holding a dance competition at the 1322 Bar and Lounge, WCQ Productions and Management noticed that some of the participants really needed help. Some had to travel far, slept outside, and didn't have a place to practice at all. It was heartbreaking to see them try to make ends meet.

Their passion is unquestionable, which is why they believe that providing opportunities for these dance groups would be the right thing to do. Proceeds of this dance concert will be given to them so they could have facilities, the skills to become better at their craft in order to nurture the next generation of dancers in the country. They were really emotional while telling us about the story.

Here's the press conference held at Farmers Plaza in Araneta City.

THE SIGN: 90's Supershow is directed by Kiko Cabarloc and Arnel Caranto. As discussed during the presser, they will have their groups perform individually. They also plan to do a dance number where everyone will be joining in. This is quite exciting especially for people who miss the times they went to clubs and discos. The competitive fan base of these different groups should definitely show up at the ALIW Theater as they promise to BRING IT on the dance floor.

Spencer Reyes will also be flying to the Philippines from the UK this coming April 13. That's a few days before the 26 play date. He's quite excited to see his brothers from Streetboys, and the other guys from the other dance groups.

Here's a short talk we had with him that afternoon.

If you wish to get tickets, please visit the Tickelo website at TICKELO: https://www.tickelo.com/the-sign-90s-supershow . Friday, April 05, 2024

The biggest trade event for Philippine livestock, poultry and aquaculture businesses is set to open on May 22 to 24th at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Their theme this year is about "Harnessing Innovation and Technology for Sustainable Farm Development" where they enjoin both public and private sectors to look for different opportunities, tie ups with partners and distributors on this 3 day event.

These industries have been generating jobs and leveling up their production is essential to drive economic growth especially in the countryside. The event will be featuring over 250 exhibitors and will expect to drive over 10,000 visitors from over 30 countries to discuss different technologies available for them, so they could further improve their efforts in the agri and aquaculture sectors. The last leg of which will be on May 8-9 in Pampanga specifically for the aquaculture, poultry and swine industries. There will also be a talk on Biosecurity, and how to handle challenges within.

2024 marks the return of Livestock Awards to recognize the industries best plus those who have been able to do remarkable contributions to the sector. On the 22nd, Bidang Egg Kids will be launched by Batangas Egg Producers Cooperative as a tool to prevent hunger and malnutrition in the country. KIKO ESTRADA and SARAH LAHBATI on TV5's "LUMUHOD KA SA LUPA"

Got the chance to watch the pilot episode of "LUMUHOD KA SA LUPA" yesterday through the advanced press screening arranged by SariSari Channel, Viva Studios and TV5. It's a series based on the comics and movie made by Carlo J. Caparas, and will now be part of the Caparas Universe.

For those who don't know, the film came out in the 80's with Rudy Fernandez, Jackie Lou Blanco, Eddie Garcia and Mark Gil. It was a huge project, and seeing it be done as a series on free to air TV (right after Eat Bulaga) will certainly be monumental, possibly catapult the career of Kiko Estrada who almost quit the industry a few years back.

Sarah Lahbati also has not been doing any projects in the past 8 years. Her last one was also a Carlo J. Caparas masterpiece and reckoned she's been doing only Caparas projects by fate. Needless to say, she's been doing a lot of projects recently and a few endorsements too. She was absolutely gorgeous that afternoon, and her role is an important one for the story since they will have a pairing in "Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa" too.

Aside from Kiko and Sarah, the series also include Sid Lucero, Rhen EscaƱo, Gardo Versoza, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Andrew Muhlach, Phoebe Walker, Andre Yllana, Ashley Diaz, Annika Co, Rose Van Ginkel, Jeffrey Hidalgo and Jeric Raval. You can officially say this is their attempt to put Kiko Estrada into the "action star" game. The series may have some small flaws, but the thing is made like a movie and quite fast paced. You'll have to watch it from day 1 so you get to see how Norman changes over the course of the series and also know why he had to become a force to be reckoned with later on in the story. Ultimately, this is about family and seeking justice... but just like what the two directors said, none of the characters would be useless. They all had a part to play in the life of Norman.

Here's the interview we had with them after the screening

"Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa" will be shown right after EAT BULAGA on April 8th, and will be shown 8pm the same day at SARISARI Channel in the evening. This is part of TV5's Hapon Champion block and the throng of summer shows they will be releasing. Go like their social channels to know more about the show because they will be posting updates about this more there.
