Regal's FranSeth Starrer "MY FUTURE YOU" Could Be This Year's Dark Horse at MMFF

Just got off the cinemas after watching Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin's film My Future You, the official entry of Regal Films for the 50th Anniversary of the Metro Manila Film Festival.

They are two star-crossed lovers, literally connected with some mumbo jumbo social media site that happened in different timelines. One lives in the past, while the other lives in the not so distant present.

It's a fun setting, but certainly has its flaws. Karen and Alexander felt a connection from day 1, and it all started from that. They're both kind, brought up by great parents (even if it's complicated). Their getting to know stage gets fast tracked because of their affinity to their families, about their hunger for finding happiness, and the thirst to seek why things in life happen for a reason.

The romance part gets injected quite later, but Francine and Seth's chemistry isn't forced, it just came quite naturally. The talk is matured, but relatable in so many levels. I guess love encompasses time, generations, but does the story feel impossible? Not at all, if there's something to say about their acting chops, Francine's great acting is expected, but if you think Seth Fedelin would be just there to complement what Francine is doing, I think you'll be mistaken.. because he did "BRING" it and I could even say over delivered (a good thing).

That's what you should find out. This is a non structured story, but I said that because this takes on a few ethical things in perspective. If you were in their shoes, would you change things in your past?

This movie is actually nice, really great in concept and can entertain kids, teens and a whole lot of people in between This is also for General Patronage, and if you're a FranSeth fan, you will love every bit of it. I felt a few of their supporters in the theater couldn't hold back with the kilig and began shouting their desires for the two publicly.

This film is produced by Regal Films, and is their entry to the 50th Anniversary of the Metro Manila Film Festival. Go watch it on December 25th, and also the other entries in the fest. This has its own merits and deserves your movie watching money for MMFF. Mother Lily would have been so happy to see how this was received last night.

Don't be surprised if this gets nominated and maybe, win awards. It could well be this year's dark horse at the 50th Anniversary of MMFF!

ASUS Gets You The Best Deals on SHARE 2024!

Monday, December 16, 2024

Had the chance to go to the ASUS event a few days ago where they announced their latest deals on this year's ASUS Share, their annual Christmas sale. Gearing towards the best in technology and style, they're making several of their new laptops from ASUS a d ROG available at an attractive price plus Php 5,000 worth of Sole Academy vouchers. Thing is, this is only going to be available til December 31st, so if you're looking for good work and game laptops, and shoes, then you should take advantage of it.

ASUS wants you to get the chance to upgrade your ASUS AI PC's as it's best to own an ASUS Lumina OLED or ROG Nebula for work or play. The ASUS Zenbook AI Laptops for starters are best for executives who want something light, classy and fashionable. It uses an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor Series 2 and Intel Arc Graphics that are both fast and efficient. The 14 inch 3K 120Hz capable display makes the ASUS Lumina OLED touch screen work quite nicely on renders, gaming and entertainment too. It has stunning visuals, but never fail you when you need productivity to happen even at home. If you need other models with larger display, they have the Vivobook S15 S5507 or Vivobook S16 M5606 that's also AI capable, you'll have a workhorse for times you need it. The battery also lasts long at 18 hours or more, which means you won't lose work you've done in a day because it can handle it. You can opt for the ASUS Vivobook 16 X1605/M1605 if you prefer an even larger one. The keyboard/touchpad is nice too because it can take a beating as it is military standard. Good news is, these laptops come with a Php 3,000 Sole Academy voucher so you can get new shoes for the holidays!

If you want the 14/15 inch screened Vivobook 14/15 E1404/E1504, it's going to be fun as it's got displays you can lay flat 180 degrees for presentations or meetings. That would get you a 2K voucher from the same place though. If you're a desktop guy, the All in One PC's ASUS S5 Mini Tower S501and smaller form ASUS A3402 would be best plus it comes with a 3,000 peso voucher from Sole Academy too.

ROG and TUF have their ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 that can get you apt gaming power but still can be carried around because of it. The TUF Gaming A14 carries NVIDIA GeForce GTX 4060 GPU's so those games remain smooth if you want to switch between that and work. You also get 5,000 peso vouchers with it. Other options include the ROG Strix Series G18 and G16 plus the Strix SCAR 18 that has got more power and larger cooling systems, best for those who take gaming quite seriously. Other desktop models are available through accredited retailers so make sure you get the deals they offer during December. You'll get the bundle in 45 days or less, and some are even available on Home Credit so follow their social channels (on ASUS Philippines) to know more about this exciting offers!

Set to Conquer the World Stage: The Victoria Sports Pro Cycling Team

I've never seen so much passion in the sport of cycling than during the thanksgiving event of the Victoria Sports Pro Cycling team (VSPC). I've seen them don podiums in different events, and didn't know how close they were. We found out today that their office is at Quezon City.

These guys have been working so hard doing races locally and recent ones in Europe, trying their best in international racing circuits, making us all proud, all hoping to bring pride and honor for the Philippines.

For those who don't know, one of their members Ean Cajucom took home the championship for the Ramos Cycling Race (based in PH). At the General Classification and 2nd Stage of Oman's Tour of Salalah, their team member Nicolas Sessler copped these posts. Then Jeroen Meijer took 3rd spot on Stage 4 of the multi day road cycling race in that country. The VSPC team also took home 5th Place overall at the Trans-Himalayan Cycling Race in China versus some of the world's best too. In the land of the rising sun's OITA Urban Classic, Meijers took first place at the Road Race, while Cajucom took second spot. They also did good at the Tour de Kyushu races, much of which they consistently placed as part of the team.

Here's our interview with them a few days ago:

You could feel their eagerness to improve their skills even at this stage. When they are doing rigorous training in Europe, they said they loved it because they get to concentrate on cycling and the sport. No question about their love for the Philippines, but they said they needed to look out for themselves here because of the traffic, buses, trucks, other motorists that become their number one concern when training. The only drawback is being away from family, friends, and loved ones. The senior members really felt like family because the little things like problems at home do become a normal occurrence in managing their members.

Former QC Mayor and House Speaker Sonny Belmonte was also there to support the cause! It was a pleasure meeting you sir!

The training they receive in EU also gets them to adapt the time tested system of training they do in that side of the world which more or less, doesn't exist in the region we belong. They will also be scouting in different weekly and monthly cycling events to seek Filipino talent that they could further develop like the champions they have in the roster. These 15 members are making the country proud, and in 2025 they promise to do even more to make sure that we as a nation achieve greater heights just like recent champions, Olympians, who have inspired the youth, and even more people to take up the sport.

They have been fixing their calendar to participate in local tourneys plus a few more in United Arab Emirates (Dubai and elsewhere). They also have some in Spain, and other countries in Europe. This is just the start of hopefully more wins in the world stage, and we hope that more brands, corporations would continue to support their cause and bring the Philippines more wins in the professional cycling sport.

Congratulations to the whole Victoria Sports Pro Cycling (VSPC) team which includes Carlos Francisco Ochoa, Marcelo Felipe, Ean Cajucom, Alexis Pagara, Nicolas Sessier, Ismael Grospe Jr., Daniel Ven Carino, Edson Carbadora, Miguel Andrei Obmerga, Nichol Pareja, Kenneth Maramba, Jeroen Meijers, Edgar Nieto and more, please continue to do the Philippines and your pro team proud!

Congratulations VSPC! Here's to more victories for the country soon!
