CALISTA, ADIE, SUNKISSED LOLA Headline ADMU "HORIZON" Fundraising Concert

Saturday, February 22, 2025

What were you doing when you were in your last year in high school? Do you still remember that? Well, meet Ateneo de Manila University Junior High School Class 10 Rodrigues, they're preparing to hold a full blown concert inside ADMU's covered court this coming April 5. This is for the benefit of the Katipunan Fund Drive aimed to service those who have been struck by calamities, and help Jesuit brethren with their missions.

They call it HORIZON - A Fundraising Concert for Hope. Their CEO Ryan Nicolas Jr. told us "This usually is organized by 2-3 classes as part of the Katipunan Fund Drive, but this year it's going to be done by us at 10-Rodrigues. KFD is an annual fund raising program to fund missions that deal with natural calamities. This is a collective effort for our beneficiaries. We aim to create an atmosphere where the music, beat and the lights would symbolize our bright and vibrant future that we are working on. Everything we earn from tickets sold, every donation made, will contribute in moving us beyond that horizon. We are stalwarts of access to education and opportunity. We should always help people who need it. Last year, there were lots of thunderstorms that ravaged communities in Rizal and nearby provinces and KFD's efforts benefited them."

Here's the press conference on video, please listen in!

What's exciting is that they've gotten 2 student bands to perform before the main act. Then some of the country's hottest artists as part of the concert particularly popular girl group CALISTA (with Anne, Dain, Denise and Elle) set to feature their recently released EP called FOUR. They also have Filipino singer-songwriter Adie who sang iconic songs Paraluman, Tahanan, Mahika and hails from OC Records. There's also popular band Sunkissed Lola who sang OPM songs Paraluman, Paki Sabi, Atin Ang Walang Hanggan among others. They will also have a DJ to run some music later on as part of the rave party they want to do so students could enjoy the Horizon concert.

Tickets will be sold at 700 and 1000 denominations, and the VIP ticket would give you an opportunity to have a meet and greet with the artists that evening. If you want to purchase tickets, just get in touch with them via +63 917 5874347. Bulk orders encouraged and will be discounted, and for updates, they designated their IG account @horizonkfd2025 if you want to see details.

CALISTA will be there!

Also in attendance during the press conference were Manuel Agpalasin Jr. (Operations Head), Nicolo Madlambayan (Finance), Enzo Lopez (who heads Marketing) Ezekiel Reyes (HR), Clark Bayani (Main Artist Contact Person), JM Delos Santos (Event Secretary), Mason Hernandez (for Sponsorships). This also wouldn't be possible without the very supportive parants Ms. Christy Agpalasin, Ms. Monina Bayani, Ms. Yeye Nicolas, Ms. Gling Madlambayan, Ms. Ayes Sanchez and Ms. Mitch Delos Santos who's all helping them organize the show.

There's security, ample parking, food and these great artists to see and listen to. Make sure you get yourself and your friends some tickets to the show because it will run out fast! Students and young ones are encouraged to attend. It's going to be a fun day!

MESA Renews Ties with DINGDONG DANTES on their #RoadTo100

Friday, February 21, 2025

Popular modern Filipino and Asian inspired restaurant MESA just renewed their ties with Primetime King and Kapuso Star Dingdong Dantes as they continue having him as the endorser for the restaurant chain. The event was witnessed by Dong's Manager Mr. Perry Lansigan, MESA CEO Rikki Dee, their COO Eric Dee and their VP for National Operations Raymond Federigan. This continues a very effective partnership between the MESA group and Dingdong who's well identified with their brand and the life sized standees in store across the country.

Eric Dee says "We planned 120 stores last 2020, we were delayed because of obvious reasons. We are back on track this year for 2025. Our growth's reason is Mr. Dingdong Dantes, our vision of our Road to 100 is coming true. We will continue to celebrate Filipino heritage in our stores, our food, enjoyed by families all over "

Ricky Dee added "I want to thank Dingdong for coming to our lives. When we thought about it, it was unanimous. Til today we believe in him, and we are looking forward to more years of being together."

Dingdong extends his thanks for the trust given to him and said "Congratulations to the MESA group, I am so proud and honored to be part of this brand 6 years ago. Now, we are raring to be part of the road to 100 and my inclusion in it. I said a few years ago that I'll be part of it, I will be branch 88 and we will announce it very soon. To Filipino families, we will reach you, even in Hawaii. This brand will become bigger and stronger."

He adds "Our values are aligned, common goals, and we both believe in quality. Without getting into details, they will take care of me. I'm planning to put it near Sixto's school so Marian and I will be in it often. We can't wait to do that. We bond over food."

Dong adds "What the stomach experiences is the same in memories. We dine out, we eat, and I'm a foodie. I love the Crispchon and it's good to share. Being with other people, sharing it with the ones you love, it's what we do every week and it is special."

Here's some scenes from the event this morning and the press conference, please enjoy!

With this happening this 2025, there will be more events and activations where Dingdong will be a part of and soon, more stores for him too as he said he's also planning to open one in his neck of the woods. Currently, MESA is present in Ayala Malls, Eastwood, Festival Mall, Fisher Mall, One Ayala, Robinsons Malls, SM Malls, and more. They are all under Foodie Global Concepts.

Congratulations on this continuing partnership!

It will be stellar so expect a few celebrities coming. Triathletes from different teams will also be there, so if you are gunning for more experience, this is the time to go. Make sure you are in Subic for the My Daily Collagen Triathlon's 5th year, because you can be that star!

Ms. Kara David is going back to the Triathlon sport, and even if she says she's not training per se, she is running quite often as preparation for the event. She encourages those who are beginning to enjoy the swim, bike and run activities because she only combined what she was doing as a hobby in the past, and realized she is a Triathlete.

MARVIN AGUSTIN and JOLINA MAGDANGAL for EX EX LOVERS (Cinema Visit)

Saturday, February 15, 2025

Just got out of the cinemas after watching the Marvin-Jolina  reunion movie called Ex Ex Lovers. It certainly brings back memories of the 90's couple we've seen on TV and the movies.

Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal Escueta play parents to soon to be wed characters of JK Labajo and Loisa Andalio. It felt like we were in a time space warp because the loveteam still works. Before the screening, we talked to Marvin and Jolina in the sidelines and they said that it was easy to make this film because once the film rolls, Jolina just turns into a worm squirming and giddy like they used to. She also adds how they never even have to talk about the scenes because it was like they never even had to lift a finger, effortless in fact. They're both so glad about how the new generation of folks get to be fans of what they are doing on screen, something they have been trying to do for years. They even read feedback on Reddit about how those who didn't quite adore them in the past are now fans of the tandem.

The movie is cute, has little spots of laughter, and some serious drama scenes that involves family. They also have filmed most of this film in Malta, which makes some of the scenes so picturesque. The quality of the cinematography is impeccable, and the story is quite nice. I bet Marvin Jolina fans would LOVE this not just because they are here, but it has its own merits.

Go watch EX EX LOVERS in cinemas nationwide. It will also be shown in selected countries as distribution was confirmed by them earlier. I heard US, North America and the Middle East is included. Go see it and expect the kilig! This is produced by Project 8, Cornerstone Studios, and distributed by Warner Brothers.
