It's All About Survival!

We had a great day of adventure down south together with Team Suspects this weekend and boy it was one for the books! We do spend quite some time with these folks in events but unfortunately we ended up in different teams and be with different people which is something we're really not comfortable with. We're that clingy and if you think about it, this is sort of out of our comfort zone. We did wall climbing, rappelling and a full obstacle course battling it out with different people. Aside from camaraderie, it was a way to have us cohesively work on our own little battles. It's much like the rules of survival as accorded by Bob Parsons Godaddy's Lifehack which includes going out of our comfort zones, not giving up, reasons to be encouraged, moving forward and a whole lot more. Just like him, going through these hardships made us realize about the perks of having a common bond with your brethren. We also learned about the fruits of cooperation, having solidarity and the effects of boosting team morale.

We're not the most athletic bunch, nor do we have the perfect chiseled physique to begin with. We didn't even know we were going through these hardships but we were optimistic about all the challenges they prepared for us. The good people from Pioneer also had us covered with Travel Buddy insurance via their Insure shop online so we're good for 30 days traveling on an adventure here or abroad should anything happen. We also had professional riggers and people from the camp to also help us feel secure with all our gear. Some other bloggers who were seasoned climbers also shared their expertise, giving us a view of what we were about to embark in. Everyone was both scared and excited if there's a term to define that feeling while most of us just had the urge to survive this ordeal. We all cheered for each other, found ourselves talking with each other even if we were once strangers.

While it was a competition and we knew everyone was going through a lot, we began giving each other tips how to finish a task - and that built trust and confidence. There were cuts and bruises, but we finished them one by one. We started conquering our fears and began enjoying what was supposedly frightening in the beginning. It was a different case of accomplishment because we were doing it all as a team. It didn't even bother us we were wearing different colors because once we sat down for lunch, cheering each other for the tasks, it felt we were cheering for friends and not because we had to, but we wanted to. Yes, it's a tough life and yes it's all about survival. The difference is, we survived together. That marks camaraderie at its highest form, which hopefully would also be applicable in business when we all go back to our offices and see each other, in a good different way.

Thank god for this day and the people we spent it with. We'll surely take the things we learned from camp in our lives and make it better.

Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana for No Boyfriend Since Birth

Saturday, October 24, 2015

This world is full of love... and when a woman thinks she's meant for one man, it'll be very hard to take that away from her. In her heart, in her mind, he's the only one... the man of her dreams. This is exactly what happened with Carla Abellana's character opposite Tom Rodriguez in the Regal Films project called "No Boyfriend Since Birth". They were highschool sweethearts, this seemed to her like a second wind. What do you think would happen if a woman with better disposition, more courageous and very determined demeanor suddenly had the chance to tell that man how she feels? If she wanted more than a business partnership, if she wanted it to happen... will this story of love finally start?

Here's a rundown on what happened during the grand press conference of NBSB including Direk Joey Reyes' synopsis of the story and interview with the cast Mike Tan, Bangs Garcia, Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez.

Here are some photos too from the Grand Press Conference:

ASUS Challenges You to Unfold Your New Incredible Story

Thursday, October 22, 2015

This quarter looks so promising for ASUS as they got new, more powerful, aesthetically superior and efficient gaming laptops, notebooks and computers launched at Valkyrie in BGC. Aside from honoring their top of the line hardware, they invited their best authorized sellers and gave them recognition plus had them witness the unveiling of these really cool machines last night.

Check out the highlights of the event last night in this HD video:

ASUS remains the number 1 brand in Southeast Asia, number 3 in terms of Notebook sales in the Philippines. Mr. Calum Chisolm the GM of Intel Philippines says they also will be including the best intel chips on the new line of notebooks that ASUS is releasing in the market. I specifically like the ASUS ROG rigs that they have which is perfect for gamers like the model ASUS ROG G752 that's got superior graphics, with an Armor Titanium and Plasma Copper finish that would make Iron Man envy the thing when you hold it. Bandwidth management on it would make your gaming experience even better (in the hopes of no lags and give your line more resources), unless it's the problem on your connection that is. It also comes with a gaming headset and it's own bag. You might also get interested with the ROG G501 which has almost the same performance as the latter, with almost the same specs though. Almost a Php 20K difference though as the G752 is around Php 79,995 just like the G501. If you're in the hunt for gaming gear, these guys know what they are talking about.

Another thing to note is the ASUS ZEN AiO. It's like an iMac, but it's not and is designed to be a connected hub for all your ASUS devices. You can backup over the network without the need of cords as it's all wireless. It's also got a 4K UHD display, so photos were really stunning during the preview earlier. Let's just say I was drooling during this time and if I had something on my wishlist this Christmas, that would be it. It's pretty steep at Php 109,995. They've got more up their sleeves so make sure you follow them on Facebook and Instagram which are both updated.

Meet T.O.P. : The Winners of To The Top!

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

Louie Pedroso, Joshua Jacobe, Miko Manguba, Adrian Pascual and Mico Cruz. The boys of T.O.P.
The winners of recent GMA boyband reality show To The Top is now called T.O.P. composed of Louie Pedroso, Joshua Jacobe, Miko Manguba, Adrian Pascual and Mico Cruz. They have already made rounds in different malls and establishments and felt that's where they truly feel the love and support of their followers. We met with them over lunch yesterday to find out more about what their plans are in the next few years, but all just seem so optimistic.

These guys are very talented as some of them write, arrange music, choreograph their own dance moves and of course sing as a team. I have the impression that they're really dividing the exposure equally and says if ever one of them would show good reception from fans, they would eagerly support their colleague and make it a positive experience because all they want to do right now is inspire people with their music.

Here's an excerpt of their interview on HD video:

To the Top: TOP boys interview by kumagcow

Adrian says he personally expected to win because they're pretty confident about their talent, about the things they did in the competition and he says it's the same as with his crew. They wanted to win and even if it doesn't work, they'll grab the opportunity. Adrian started modeling on runway, did VTR's and runway but now that he's part of T.O.P. he's going to do good in choreography and writing songs and hopes it would be included somehow in future albums. Asked if he ended up doing solo shows, he felt it was going to be something detrimental if he did that now that they're in a group. The hardships they went through he says wasn't a joke and hopes even in the near future, they would still be able to perform as a group because that's what they wanted to do to begin with. I could see his hesitation if he or any of the other guys left and hopes that doesn't happen at all. That to me feels like they're very tight, no matter how tough the situation is, they promise to stay together and perform their absolute best. If he's going to go solo, he's not for it. He's not gonna go Justin Timberlake or Zayn Malik.

Talking to Louie and Mico, they told us this is what they wanted and the preparations that they do before every show is no joke. This life is a little tiring, but it just becomes a great experience because they love what they do. They are part of Kundirana and they already know how to sing with a group and feels it's better when you can do harmonies, dance, and with other people attacking the single song. They joined some contests in the past but found their passion here. Michael Angelo Cruz aka Mico is a full blooded La Salle boy and originally hails from Meycauayan, parents of who have a business. Leonard Louie Espinosa Mendoza is also from La Salle but went to UST for Psychology. He did gigs in occasions, but this is his first competition and there are great singers so he was a little hesitant. Now that he's part of it and won the show, he promises to make the best of it. They tried a few acting gigs but they'll establish this boyband first, and says this is their priority. They enjoyed one episode with Starstruck  guys and gals and says it was also fun so who knows right? They'll be coming out with their music videos very soon btw! So watch out for that!

Joshua and Miko aka Mark Joshua Jacobe Marcelo and Jamico Allan Manguba is still on cloud 9 after winning the show. Miko started in De La Salle Inner Soul where he started performing and arranging music. Joshua on the other hand started playing the guitar when he got it at 12 years old, started in an organization in Gravity in Adamson University where he got a break and did front act performances with Julie Ann San Jose in some of her concerts and shows. He also arrange songs much like Miko and contributes when there are high notes in the arrangement. Miko is doing standards, choosing the quality of songs overall and says that's where they'll make their group different from the previous Filipino boy bands. Both of them, their lives have changed and it's all positive. They read the bad things on social media, but they brush it off and just maintain their image now that they are a part of the group. They are inspiring people, they have to be careful and says "thank you" to their detractors for at least giving their attention. They'll be proving them wrong, they have different genres and they complement each other. This group is going places and are confident if one can't do a thing, the others would be fine with it. To the top trained them not to stand out alone, but do it as a group.

They'll be doing shows this weekend, make sure you visit their facebook page for updates about that!
