Dream Gifts for Dad at Baseus

Monday, November 25, 2019

Christmas is just around the corner and if you're like me, you probably don't know yet what you would be giving Dad for this holiday season. Now don't you worry, because our friends from Baseus has the perfect one you could give your Fathers who always carry around his gadgets in his car, you're going to make his life easier. You should only do this if you want to be the favorite son/daughter LOL!

This is the Baseus Christmas Car Accessories Gift Set. This actually costs almost 2 thousand pesos originally, but since Baseus is in a giving mood, they're going to be generous this Christmas and slashing a ton off its price.

They've got a fancy Fragrance Holder, a Car Mount for your mobile phone, a Charger for your lighter port and a 3 in 1 cable for all your phones.

It comes in this fancy Christmas themed box which houses everything.

You pull it out and it's got the Fragrance Holder and USB plug which fits in the lighter port of your car.

This green snowflake box comes in  the center, it is glued in on the slot above so you have to take it out to get to the Car Mount.

I love how it's got three heads, like a hydra. You can charge your iPhone with the lightning cable, your Android phone with the mini USB, and other ones which has got the USB C. I actually have three phones for coverages, now that just means I don't have to carry around 3 separate cables anymore.

I also love the braided 1 meter cable because it would be so difficult to destroy, including the shielded ends of it. This actually is something that most iPhone users can relate to because we often change em every few months/weeks.

This is the USB plug which you can stick into the lighter port on your car. It's got two usb ports so if you're a Grab driver, you can lend the extra one for your passengers. Which reminds me, this would be perfect for you too!

This is the Fragrance Holder, with its sleek modern looks, it could fit any model of a car and even your home. I would be sticking it into a dashboard, so finding out it's got adhesive already is so convenient. It's kinda permanent and if ever we need to put it somewhere else, we can buy the double tapes from stores. It's also very easy to install.

Roll the bottom to the left and open it up. It's got a knob on the center. Twist it and place the scent ring on it. Twist it back then put the cover back. Push the top part so the scent permeates on the car. I love how lemony it is! Haha!

I'm gonna have to buy refills of it, I haven't checked if it is available in Baseus, it would be nice no?

This already would cost a lot in reality but since it is bundled and prices have dropped at Baseus, you can get it all for Php 1,290. Oh and the phone holder/car mount is better than the usual ones.

It sits below the box of the cable which I had to remove.

What I like about this is the clamp at the bottom so you get less occurrence of drops in case you're a little clumsy. It's sturdy and has a ball head, you can point it to your preferred direction, also the base has adhesive on it. Make sure you decide well since it is permanent. You might have to buy additional adhesive if you placed it in the wrong place.

Baseus has so much in their store and this is just one of them. I bought wireless chargers from them and still use it til now. They also have warranty depending on the device you purchase, it is quite reassuring. This would be a good thing to give Dad, your boyfriend, your friend this Christmas. It could work for women too, technology is for everyone anyway!

Baseus stores are at the 3F of Trinoma Mall, Cyberzone of SM Southmall and SM Fairview. Go rush to their stores while sale items like these are still there!

HORSE Not Good at 15th PH Feng Shui Convention

Sunday, November 24, 2019

Year after year, Ms. Marites Allen and Frigga Charmed Life has hosted successful Philippine Feng Shui Conventions and yes, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The west has already deemed this very Asian geomancy and included its very sense into design. After all, there is no harm in following your stars and it keeps you from harm. It's older than other sciences and has been followed by millions of people. I mean, why not right?

During this year's convention, the Horse isn't that much lucky in wealth, health and love. Albeit naturally lucky in other years, this 2020 is a lot different because your overall well being will be compromised. She said you must at all cost prioritize your health above all else. Although she deemed it unlucky for us born in 1990 LOL, she suggests to overcome this using several health and longevity amulets, anti illness charms and counter measures to make your months/year favorable.

The Jade Wulou is something she suggests for March so it would appease illness.

For a smooth and victorious month, she suggests you wear these earrings for April. It has mystic knots and a victory emblem so your business and life will flourish.

For May, she suggests you to get this 9 charm necklace. This would be good for your career, wealth, luck, power and authority, longevity and success.

The 9 charm blue bangle (which I wanted but wasn't in my size) would be good to wear in February. Although an unfavorable time for horses, this exterminates evil, adversities, obstacles and protects you from dangers of travel.

For June, she suggests you get this Tree of Life Bangle/bracelet which will give you financial support, boost business and increase your income.

To repress evil intentions of other people, you must have this Red Chung Kwei so you wouldn't be victims of robberies and injuries. I need this in my life LOL.

For September, you need this Ultimate Amulet Medallion to protect yourself from everything negative. It has auspicious symbols in it to attract luck, success and happiness.

For those who need help in romance, get these Mandarin Ducks which will help you in fidelity, loyalty in marriage and monogamy. There are others which were not available there but will be in Frigga boutiques in malls nationwide!
Although the year seems not to favorable for me, I am glad I knew it beforehand and got to learn things that would ward off bad luck before it happens. Thank you Ms. Marites Allen for always being so nice and accommodating each time you hold the Feng Shui Convention. I'll try to be well equipped so when I go out in the real world I have all these Feng Shui advices and use them to my advantage. I can act on it because I learned things from you, that is priceless.

Discovery Primea's TAPENADE Introduces New Items on Menu

Friday, November 22, 2019

I've been to Tapenade quite a number of times now. Usually if I wait out the traffic I get a thing or two at Discovery Primea's Gilarmi lounge and do events here. It's cozy and tucked away from the usually restaurants in Makati so there are less crowds. I like that part because the last thing anyone wants is a noisy neighbor.

For years now, Tapenade has been serving top of the notch Spanish-Euro dishes this side of town. I like their Octopus, pizzas and famous garden buffet for lunch and dinner. They just launched new items in the menu to revamp their classics, and accompany what existing hit items they already have. They did come in a good time.

The Best Salad Bar

Before we go to the new items on the menu, I saw a revamped Salad Bar from Tapenade. Before, it only carried the usual fresh leafy vegetables and whatnot, but earlier I got a glimpse of their cheese, anti pasto (cured meats), prepared salads, breads, creams and jams, sliders, Vietnamese rolls, Shrimp and Mussels for the lunch crowd. This is quite extensive when I last saw this place a couple months ago.

New Items on the Menu

Inspired by Mediterranean flavors, Tapenade prepared for us their new exciting dishes. You could see how much it is a mix of French, Greek and Italian. I personally loved the Rigatoni and Paella (which you should order when you dine).

Mozzarella and Friends was so soft and fresh, put a little dab of Basil Pesto, Black Olive Tapenade (love the strong flavor), Romesco Dip and Fruit Mostarda (a mix), and you'll be glad to have lived in this lifetime. These are part of anti pastis and yes, they're quite amazing.

Prosciutto and Company had a roving slicing machine with it. It will be done table side and is quite fancy. Impress your guests and savor the slivers of thinly sliced pork air dried and salt cured for a reason. It's not guilt free, but worth every eye closing moment you have it.

The Shrimps en Gabardina was like a Spanish Tempura. It was crunchy and good on the outside, fresh and soft on the inside. They have a Guindilla aioli dip with this, it had a strong garlic kick and everyone raved about it!

Baked, Smashed and Deep Fried, this is Patatas Crunchy with Mojo Dip. It's a Basil based sauce you put on top of the spuds, pretty good in my books as a starter.

This Rigatoni Al Sugo was inspired by their hit pizza flavor. It's got prosciutto chopped and sweat down so you get that smoky tomatoey profile in the sauce. I loved it the moment I laid my eyes on it, haha!

Two things that are made of dreams, my favorite is the Wagyu Beef and Mushroom Paella had a mix of crunchy rice morsels, made intense with the black pepper aioli and super soft medium rare slices of the best meat in town, plus the other one called Roast Chicken and Chorizo Paella had its spices permeate with the short grain rice. Ahh the heavens must be rejoicing over these!

The Red Snapper Fillet on the other hand was packed with tomato flavors. It was like a canvas, painted with Italian and Amalfi coast inspirations, perfect for a date night and white wine.

Last but not the least, a trio of desserts arrived on our table. My personal choice was the Strawberry Creme Brulee Cake (made with white chocolate custard, strawberries, champagne sugar crystals) which was so light, airy and creamy. It reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake, which I absolutely love. The other ones like the Chocolate Tart (made of choco truffle, olivo fleur de sel, raspberry kisses) was light with the mousse and not too sweet (just the way I like it). The Almond Caramel Bar (made of dacquoise, sesame nougat, amaretti crunch) was textured and chunky, if you're a fan of those long pyramid chocolates made commercially, this is a better version of it. I quite enjoyed myself while we dined with new people, new social media acquaintances, and old friends from Primea. I'd be missing a lot if I didn't try it out!

Tapenade is open from 6-10:30am for breakfast, 11:30am-2:30pm for lunch and 6:30pm - 10:30pm for dinner. Call for reservations via +63279558888. Pretty good dishes in a perfect spot, how can you not have that?!
